Pro Tips for Better Scores

Master these strategies to maximize your points and climb the leaderboard.

Tip #1

Hints Are Your Friend!

Don't be afraid to use hints! They reveal the person's first name, their nationality, and one or more key attributes about who they are. You'll still earn partial credit, and it's better than getting zero points.

The hint shows the FIRST NAME - just typing that earns you partial points!

Tip #2

Partial Credit Counts

You don't need the full name to score. Typing just the first name OR just the last name earns you half points. If you recognize someone but can't remember their full name, go with what you know.

First name only = Half points. Last name only = Half points.

Tip #3

Spelling is Forgiving!

We accept minor typos (1-2 characters off), common nicknames (Bill/William, Mike/Michael), and phonetic matches. Don't worry about capitalization or punctuation - 'MADONNA', 'madonna', 'Scarlett Johanson' and 'Scarlett Johansson' all work!

Minor typos and nicknames are accepted - just get close!

Tip #4

Use Your Time Wisely

You have 90 seconds per photo. If you're stuck, press the Hint button - the timer pauses for 10 seconds so you can read the clue. Don't wait until the last second!

Hints pause the timer for 10 seconds to help you think.

Tip #5

Build Your Streak

Playing daily builds your streak, which multiplies your score over time. Even if you only get a few right each day, maintaining your streak is more valuable than occasional perfect games.

A 7-day streak player beats a once-a-week perfectionist.

Tip #6

Go for Ace Recognizer!

Submit the exact full name without using a hint to earn the 'Ace Recognizer' bonus - extra points for confident recognition! If you know who it is, submit without requesting a hint.

Answer correctly without using a hint = Ace bonus points!

Tip #7

Skip the Titles

You don't need formal titles for royalty, nobility, or honorifics. Just type 'Charles III' instead of 'King Charles III', 'Leo XIV' instead of 'Pope Leo XIV', or 'Winston Churchill' instead of 'Sir Winston Churchill'. However, stage names like Queen Latifah and Prince should be typed as-is - those ARE their names!

Charles III, Leo XIV, Winston Churchill - no titles needed!

Tip #8

Challenge Your Friends!

After completing your daily round, tap 'Challenge a Friend' to send them the same 7 photos you just played. • Same photos, same difficulty - a true head-to-head test • Friends don't need an account to accept your challenge • Compare scores including Ace Recognizer bonuses • Challenge as many friends as you want • Use the share card to show off and motivate competitors

Same 7 photos, head-to-head battle - prove who knows more faces!
